Cassie Dalton is young, beautiful, and already a widow on the dangerous frontier. She always keeps her rifle on hand in case of trouble—which is exactly what the rugged stranger who suddenly appears on her property looks like. She’s about to order him off her property when the handsome devil introduces himself.
He’s Drew Dalton, wayward bastard son of Cassie’s dead husband, and he’s come to claim his inheritance. He can’t believe his father married this feisty young beauty, or that she has an infant son who she claims is the true heir to the ranch. Even as she frustrates him, everything she does fires the restless cowboy with lusty visions of blazing kisses and hot embraces—and Cassie is in no way immune to these fantasies. When the threat of losing the ranch appears on the horizon, they are thrust into an alliance of trust, and a passionate surrender too powerful to deny.

Ok,real early in the morning and just got through reading another of Deborah Camps stories. Just couldn't put it down until I had read the last page! Well, our little "soiled dove" little nugget WAS in this and also that one-eye Buck WILHITE I just knew he would be. What other bad guy could there be! ? This was just the best story!! I learn something from every book Deborah writes. She talks about the cattle and horses and the land, oh, I always love the description of the beautiful land. But best of all I love the way she goes into detail about human nature. Sure she describes the people as beautiful, always, why not? Who wants to read about unpleasant looking people? We get too much of that in every day life. I want to read good stories to take me away from my pain and every day problems! And Deborah Camp does just that. She goes into detail about human nature feelings and enough to make even me think at my age. The bonding of Cassie (or little nugget) and Drew with her precious baby s just so sweet! I don't explain very much about what goes on about their life outside of Abilene on their ranch. I'm not a writer and don't pretend to be. I leave that up to Deborah Camp. That's what she's good at. That's why I read every book she writes that I can get my hands on. I recommend you read this and all her books. She deserves five stars, and more.Product details

A Tough Man Woman edition by Deborah Camp Romance eBooks Reviews
This book is a absolute fantastic read! Would definitely reccomend to other readers! One of my favorites from the range! A +++!
I'm glad I picked this book to read. It was a great story about a man who comes home after being in prison for five years. He wants to claim the ranch as the rightful heir after his father's death. He arrives to find it occupied by his young step mother and young child. She claims her child with the same name as are main character is the rightful heir. Now the fun begins .Great story of love and redemtion.Good and bad guys in the story.
Enjoyed very much. I pulled other books by her and found she continues to write well in all I've read. Will continue to seek out her books
Great love story of two people with pasts to hide finding love and hope for a future together. Highly recommend.
I thought this was a well written book. The relationship between Cassie and her step-son Drew grows at the face trials along the way. The story flowed nicely and it wasn't the typical guy meets needy woman and protects her. Both characters had substance and I really enjoyed their banter back and forth. Good book and best of all it is part of a series. I love when I enjoy a good book and then in another story I can catch up with what happened to them.
This is the second book I've read by Deborah Camp and another to add to my KEEPER shelf! Having met Cassie in "Tough Talk, Tender Kisses" and knowing the horrible hand she had been delt in life, I was all set to follow her on her journey as a "mail order bride". What a journey it was! This story grabbed on to me from her first altercation with Drew and didn't let me go till the last page. I literally did not want to put it down. The detailed description of the ranch, Cassie and Drew, the secondary characters, the bad guys, the baby, and the horses, along with the myriad of emotions thrown in along the way, made me one with the story. I laughed and cried and sighed and of course fell in love. I was so sad when it ended - not with the ending ( that was beautiful ) - but just that it was over. I'm now off to find another of Deborah's stories to immerse myself in. I so highly recommend this book!
Sorry. This is the first Deborah Camp book I've read and I didn't particularly care for it. I didn't care for the storyline very much, maybe because of the relationship of the hero and heroine. I'm not a big romance fan but there was absolutely no courting and yet back during this time this was unheard of. I gave it three stars because it was an alright read and even though I put the book down several times I did finish it without having to push myself to it. I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a western that's easy but doesn't need your full attention. To me it's one of those books that you keep around to read when you're being lazy, don't want to anything at all including reading.
